Simply drum the plastic sound tubes on any surface - different tones will be heard depending on the color and length of the tube. Ideal for training the sense of rhythm and for making music together. The diatonic setting is ideal for playing many children's songs. There is also the option of using percussion instruments alongside the Boomwhackers. Boomwhackers are perfect for basic training in rhythm, harmony and melody.
What are Boomwhackers?
Tuned percussion tubes are called boomwhackers. "Boom" stands for the sound produced by hitting the instrument against an object, while "whackers" derives from the English verb "to whack", which here describes the method of sound production. The plastic tubes are of different lengths and assigned a color. If they are struck on different materials, the timbre changes, but the tone remains the same. The shorter the Boomwhackers are, the higher the playable tone.
The instrument can be played an octave lower using octavator caps (caps that slip onto one end of the tubes. Not included.). Boomwhackers are particularly suitable for rhythmic song accompaniment in music lessons. Complex relationships are brought closer to the students in this way. They are available as diatonic, pentatonic and chromatic sets.
