Water purification kit Ideal for the curriculum topic 'Water'
filter or distill
different techniques for cleaning
with extensive instructions
This is how the water purification works
With this experiment set, your students will find out how to filter and purify water with their own experiments. You will see the filter properties of different substances, such as: As sand or activated carbon.
The set allows experimental setups for two different ways of water purification:
Filtrierungs Tower:
Here you can place up to 4 sieve containers on top of each other. Each container is filled with a filtration medium (gravel, sand, activated carbon and filter paper). The contaminated water is dumped into the tower and gradually cleaned in each screen container until it arrives in the catch tank. The sieve containers can be exchanged and also removed. This is how your students check the function of the different filter levels. The sieve container can be filled with alternative materials, so it is investigated whether water z. B. can also be filtered with cotton or fabric scraps.
Distillation tray:
Here, the water purification takes place by the evaporation of dirty water and the subsequent condensation. This "thermal separation process" leaves behind the dirty particles during evaporation, the condensing water droplets are collected in a separate container.
A comprehensive guide accompanies your students through all the test steps. It also explains how the respective cleaning methods work and provides exciting background information.
